But even if you do like green eggs and ham, don’t be put off by Dr Seuss’ fanciful tales, one of which has now been turned into a movie by the people behind that furry, nut-mad squirrel Scratch from Ice Age.

For an experience like no other, I highly recommend U23D at the IMAX. Enjoy high voltage entertainment whilst keeping your buttocks comfortably seated and scoffing down a large popcorn and coke.

When thinking of London, most people conjure up images of the West End, glitzy galas and fabulous festivals. This is not the London shown in David Cronenberg’s latest movie Eastern Promises, which instead focuses on the seedier side most of the cities residents will be only to happy never to witness.

Sweeney Todd

4/5 Stars

Tim Burton and Jonny Depp serve up a sleek slice of gothic horror. Though the story of the Demon Baber is, for many people, relatively familiar, Sweeney Todd is still genuinely frightening, with a haunting Stephen Sondheim's soundtrack, lifted directly from the stage version and cinematography as dark and devilishly delightful as Marilyn Manson in a moonlit graveyard.

IN WHAT is perhaps the most audacious smuggling operation in history, 70s drugs kingpin Frank Lucas used the coffins of ill-fated US soldiers to shift heroin from war-torn Vietnam to the States. Denzel Washington makes no apologies as the visionary, real-life American Gangster in director Ridley Scott’s sharply riveting crime saga. And with Russell Crowe playing the ramshackle detective on Lucas’ case, it’s a guaranteed shot of pure heart-pumping entertainment.
