Summer Jobs In Europe

Europe throws up loads of holiday work every summer - but there's never a shortage of people ready to pounce on those jobs, so start looking in March or April.

Escape Artist has dozens of links for job agencies round Europe - and every other part of the world.
If you're keen to visit a particular country try contacting their UK Tourist Office (usually in London) via Directory Enquiries.

Look in Summer Jobs Abroad, published by Vacation Work Publications, who do lots of other working abroad titles. It has details of vacancies in more than 50 countries.

Winter Jobs in Europe

So you want to be a ski bunny, eh? Well, you're in luck, so long as you're prepared to slave away all winter for not much money, free board and lodging and, the saving grace, free lift tickets.

All resorts need an army of temporary staff during the season peak (Christmas to Easter), so if you love white fluffy stuff but can't afford ludicrous prices, work your way there instead.

For £2, join the Ski Club of Great Britain and access info on skiing at resorts round the world; the news section of their site often has job ads.
If you already ski like James Bond, hit the British Association of Ski Instructors site; at the very least they'll direct you to their BASI newsletter, with listings for work all over Europe.

Or if you're a fly-by-the-seat type of lad or lassie, and speak a smattering of German, French, Spanish or Italian, head for the Alps or Pyrenees and look for work from July onwards.

Most people try this find work, though they often get stuck with the crummiest jobs for the first few months.

Visit natives.co.uk or hotrecruit.co.uk for the hottest news and opportunities.

Start looking for a job by September at the latest. But don't despair if you start looking a bit later – there are often vacancies mid-season due to broken bones!
