call centres could be a thing of the past for students needing to support
themselves
Coaching is now being pinned as the job for students offering a high
rate of pay and flexibility while looking impressive on C.Vs. The
need to find more acceptable work solutions follows a recent report by
the National Union of Students and the Trades Union Congress showing a
rise in the number of working full-time students from 406,880 in 1996
to 630,718 in 2006.

Why Work?
Students are increasingly finding the need to find employment to subsidise
their income during their time in higher education. The extra income helps
to pay for necessities, to reduce borrowing, to maintain a social life,
to buy clothes and to gain skills for life after university or college.
