A-Levels to disappear in 5 years, exams watchdog suggests

The success of the new diplomas could spell the end to A-Levels as separate qualifications, the head of the exams watchdog recently said.

Ken Boston, of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, also asked schools and colleges for their support after head teachers cautioned that low up-take could cause the diploma to become a second class qualification.

New Research into the Bullying of Lecturers

A UK wide investigation into the bullying of teachers and lecturers has been launched by the Teacher Support Network.

The investigation was prompted by a staggering 400% year on year rise in the level of phone calls and emails that the charity receive from distressed teachers and lecturers. The majority of victims complain of verbal abuse and harassment from fellow colleagues, managers and senior staff.
