England finally had to let go of the Rugby World Cup on Saturday night after four years of what can only be described as erratic but sometimes explosive form.

Brian Ashton’s men battled and truly gave their all in a valiant performance but in the end a mixture of fitness, youth and Percy Montgomery’s trusty right boot gave the Springbok’s a deserved second Webb-Ellis World Cup.
