Apple slashes iPhone prices

No, Steve. We didn't miss that last bit.
This morning, after announcing a boatload of brand new iPod and iTunes gizmos, Steve Jobs had one final piece of news for all you Apple lovers out there: He was dropping the price of the iPhone. Little more than two months after it debuted at $599, the 8GB status symbol is now available for just $399.

Apple unveils larger nanos

This morning, at a San Francisco press event The Reg wasn't invited to, Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled several new iPods, including a nano that handles videos and games from an expanded display. He also trumpeted the arrival of iPhone ringtones, and sadly, we have no idea whether he kept a straight face.

Student reprimands Facebook for bad manners and exposed code

A recent college grad is taking credit for the disclosure of Facebook's proprietary source code in an episode that demonstrates just how porous Web 2.0 technology can be.

His warning, which also included a rebuke for bad manners at Facebook, came as a second batch of purported Facebook code surfaced online, raising new questions about security at the social networking site.

Google gags Facebook code leaker

Google's legal Luftwaffe has swooped on Facebook's behalf to shoot down an anonymous blog which posted two sections of source code leaked by the social network utility.

Facebook Secrets was at the centre of the embarrassing code exposure over the weekend after it republished code served up by the site to student Trae McNeely. His story is here. The second dollop of PHP script was dished up by the blog on Monday.
