On Sunday 31 March, the BUCS 2018-19 American Football Finals will be hosted at Loughborough University
For this year’s BUCS American Football Finals, the British American Football Association (BAFA) have confirmed that Loughborough University will host both the premier league and division one finals.
Taking place on Sunday 31 March, the finals will seek to adopt a festival/carnival atmosphere with an emphasis of the American-style excitement and entertainment both on and off the pitch.
To achieve the atmosphere desired, the food, drink and music offering will be bigger and better than previous years. A retail and exhibition area will also offer the opportunity to purchase a range of merchandise and memorabilia from the day.
For those unable to attend or wishing to watch the finals at a later date, both finals will be live streamed on BUCS’ YouTube and Facebook pages.
In light of the news, BUCS Head of Sport & Performance, Jenny Morris stated:
“We’re absolutely thrilled at the prospect of heading to Loughborough for the BUCS American Football Championship and Trophy Finals 2019. Loughborough is a university and a town synonymous with sporting prowess and the venue will undoubtedly provide a thrilling spectacle for players, coaches, and fans alike.
The stage is once again set for a showcase event highlighting the very best within University American Football; we’re confident this one at Loughborough University will be the best yet!”
BAFA Operations Director, Steve Rains added:
“We are delighted to be organising the hosting of the American Football Finals day on behalf of BUCS, at a renowned and revered sporting facility which will provide all in attendance with an amazing and rewarding experience.
The smaller, arena-style venue should provide the finals with the adrenaline buzz and atmosphere they deserve and perhaps what has been missing somewhat from recent, less-than-full big stadium events.”
